If you purchase membership through our Website, there will be additional terms and conditions relating to the purchase. Please make sure you agree with these terms and conditions, which you will be directed to read prior to making your purchase.
Definitions
Services means membership of Vegetarian Victoria

We / Us etc means https://www.vegvic.org.au and any subsidiaries, affiliates, employees, officers, agents or assigns.
Accuracy of content
We have taken proper care and precautions to ensure that the information we provide on this Website is accurate. However, we cannot guarantee, nor do we accept any legal liability arising from or connected to, the accuracy, reliability, currency or completeness of anything contained on this Website or on any linked site.
The information contained on this Website should not take the place of professional advice.
Use
The Website is made available for your use on your acceptance and compliance with these terms and conditions. By using this Website, you are agreeing to these terms and conditions.

You agree that you will not use, nor will you allow or authorise any third party to use, the Website for any purpose that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, abusive, fraudulent or obscene way or in any other inappropriate way or in a way which conflicts with the Website or the Services.
If you contribute to our forum (if any) or make any public comments on this Website which are, in our opinion, unlawful, defamatory, harassing, abusive, fraudulent or obscene or in any other way inappropriate or which conflict with the Website or the Services offered, then we may at our discretion, refuse to publish such comments and/or remove them from the Website.
We reserve the right to refuse or terminate service to anyone at any time without notice or reason.
Vegetarian Membership
- Payment & Subscription
Vegetarian Victoria agrees to supply membership entitlements to you, the Applicant, for the purpose of benefits to be identified within the application form and agrees to confer on you the membership rights in accordance with our rules upon admission in consideration of you agreeing to pay the required subscription and complying with the rules of Vegetarian Victoria.
If you do not pay your subscription by the due date:
- Your membership rights are liable to be terminated; and
- The membership services will be suspended until payment in full is received.
Vegetarian Victoria does not refund or reimburse any portion of a subscription in advance.
Membership is not transferable from one party to another.
Recurring Memberships will be extended automatically for successive 12 month terms unless you send us written notice of intent to resign the membership at least 30 days before the end of the membership.
- Membership Entitlements
The range of membership services current at the date of this application is set out at https://www.vegvic.org.au/membership/. Vegetarian Victoria may suspend, vary or withdraw any of these services without notice within the terms of the Rules of the Association.
Membership entitlements and benefits are extended to the member and authorised individuals associated with the membership (family memberships).
- Specialist Services
Supplemental, specialist and customised products may also be made available, on a fee for service basis, at special rates for members in most cases. Such products may include but are not limited to:
- Seminars, Workshops and Conferences
- Training Courses
- Specialised Services
To the extent permitted by the law, Vegetarian Victoria excludes all liability including that arising by virtue of any implied conditions or warranties in relation to our services and to the extent that such liability cannot be lawfully excluded under the laws of Victoria and the Commonwealth of Australia.
- Access to Services
Services provided by Vegetarian Victoria will only be made to authorised representatives of the membership and will be made via any means and / or medium deemed appropriate by Vegetarian Victoria.
- Membership / Cessation / Resignation / Termination
Members cease their membership by not renewing their yearly or two-yearly membership, or by giving us written notice for recurring memberships. A resignation is effective no earlier than the date the written notice is received by Vegetarian Victoria and if no date is specified in the notice, no later than a fortnight after receipt.
Access to member entitlements and benefits will cease immediately upon the member property becoming unfinancial.
Memberships are terminated 30 days after the member becomes unfinancial.
If we are unable to locate you and subscriptions are overdue, we may notify you of cancellation of your membership by writing to your last recorded registered address or email address as deemed appropriate.
- Change of Member Details
You must promptly notify us in writing of changes to your Membership name, registered address or billing address (es) or principal contact details.
- Privacy
The purpose of this policy sets out the approach Vegetarian Victoria will take in relation to the collection, storage and use of personal information.
This policy has been developed in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles.
Vegetarian Victoria recognises that your privacy is important to you. All of our volunteers, contractors and data processors, who have access to, and are associated with the processing of personal data, are obliged to respect the confidentiality of your personal data.

- Membership
Membership is activated when we receive from you a completed application form and payment. A receipt will be issued upon receipt of payment for a full twelve (12) month, twenty-four (24) month or recurring subscription as selected by the member.
- Membership is for a minimum of one (1) year commencing on the date your application is accepted or part thereof as agreed.
- Membership for recurring memberships will be extended automatically for successive 12-month terms unless you send us written notice you do not want it renewed at least 30 days before the end of the membership.
- Unless accessing monthly, quarterly or other direct debit facilities, all membership fees must be paid annually in advance.
- An invoice will be sent to you before your membership renewal date which is payable prior to your renewal date for membership fees paid annually.
- Membership may be suspended or terminated if your payment is not received within seven (7) days of the membership renewal date. In this circumstance, Vegetarian Victoria reserves the right to recover the monetary benefit of any membership discount(s) received by the member whilst the member was in arrears.
- There is no refund of any membership fees should you cancel your membership at any stage during your membership year.
- Changes to membership fees will only be made at the time of annual renewal of your membership.
- You must notify us of changes to your contact details in writing (hard copy or email to membership@vegvic.org.au) otherwise we may not be able to make our services available to you. Online services for editing contact details are available via the Vegetarian Victoria website.
- Services provided by Vegetarian Victoria in relation to membership are only available via/to designated members.
- We reserve the right to change, from time to time, the services available to members.
- Any variations made to these Terms & Conditions may be made by Vegetarian Victoria without express written notice to existing members and will be effective fourteen (14) days after the posting on the Vegetarian Victoria website.
- Direct Debiting Term/s
Vegetarian Victoria offers payment of the annual membership fee via yearly instalments via PayPal, including direct debit or credit card.
The commitment period for Direct Debit Agreements is for a minimum of 12 months and will be renewed automatically for 2 year or recurring memberships; unless your membership is cancelled by you by written notice (hard copy or via email) to Vegetarian Victoria at least thirty (30) days prior to your membership anniversary date.
Members who choose to exit within the annual membership term must pay the balance of any annual subscription payable upon termination of the membership.
We reserve the right to cancel the Direct Debit arrangement if three (3) or more drawings are returned unpaid by your nominated financial institute and to arrange with you an alternative payment method.
Direct debits will be managed through PayPal which is owned and operated by US-based Paypal Holdings Inc, a provider of secure online payment solutions.
Passwords and logins
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your passwords and login details and for all activities carried out under your password and login.
You are responsible for safeguarding the password that you use to access your membership and for any activities or actions under your password, whether your password is with our Service or a third-party service.
You agree not to disclose your password to any third party. You must notify us immediately upon becoming aware of any breach of security or unauthorized use of your account.
Confidentiality
All personal information you give us will be dealt with in a confidential manner in accordance with our Privacy Policy. However, due to circumstances outside of our control, we cannot guarantee that all aspects of your use of this Website will be confidential due to the potential ability of third parties to intercept and access such information.
Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes concerning this website are to be resolved by the courts having jurisdiction in Victoria.
We retain the right to bring proceedings against you for breach of these Terms and Conditions, in your country of residence or any other appropriate country or jurisdiction.
Indemnification for loss or damage
You agree to indemnify Us and hold Us harmless from and against any and all liabilities or expenses arising from or in any way related to your use of this Website or the Services or information offered on this Website, including any liability or expense arising from all claims, losses, damages (actual and consequential), suits, judgments, litigation costs and solicitors fees of every kind and nature incurred by you or any third parties through you.
Intellectual property and copyrights
We hold the copyright to the content of this Website, including all uploaded files, layout design, data, graphics, articles, file content, codes, news, tutorials, videos, reviews, forum posts and databases contained on the Website or in connection with the Services.
