Samantha Gowing began learning Japanese language from the age of nine and has since developed a profound respect for the cuisine and culture, managing Minami Japanese restaurant in her early 20’s. Sandra Dubs is a Wholefood Nutritionist, Natural Food Trainer and Cooking Teacher with over two decades of experience.
Aside from operating health food stores, cafes, importing and wholesaling natural foods, she has also had years of study and experience with many masters of the health food movement and macrobiotics both in Australia and overseas.
Sandra, together with Spiral Foods, started the original Melbourne Japanese and Wholefood Cooking School in 1986 and also has taught Health Supportive Vegetarian and Macrobiotic Wholefood Cooking at various venues – Box Hill Institute, Holmesglen TAFE, overseas and at her private kitchen in Melbourne.
She has taught “Food As Medicine” at Monash University Medical School, Swinburne Department of Integrative Medicine and now runs her own Nutrition Course at Holmesglen TAFE and CAE in Melbourne.
Sandra is a well-known presenter at Integrative Medical conferences and professional seminars in Australia and overseas.
Sandra continues her journey with health supportive organic wholefoods by running cooking classes, presenting workshops and seminars on food as medicine, as well as consulting and creating health supportive wellbeing programs for corporate and private clients.
In 1999 Sandra created and produced Australia’s leading nutritional vegetarian cookbook on video (and now on DVD) “Sandra’s Whole Cuisine”.
In 2010 Sandra has been appointed Wholefood Nutritional Consultant for the National Institute of Integrative Medicine in Hawthorn and also Wholefood Nutritionist for Logical Nutrition, makers of Vital Greens and Phyto Pea Protein Powder.
